Cozycot International Women's Day 2011 (13th March 2011)

I went back to the Orchard Central on Sunday for the finale of the Cozycot Event-International Women Day(IWD).

The stage performances are slightly different- Presentations (which includes talks, pole-dancing and dancing performances, fine-dining and makeup demo) by various selected Cozycot 100 most inspriring women real women.

Here are their touching stories:

Jujube Li-An Eco-Fashion Entrepreneur who is commited to use only 100% biodegradable textiles derived from certified sources.

Martha Lee Hwi Chern - The pioneer Clinical Sexologist in Singapore

Sharmilah Begum Mehmood - Founder of the Big is Gorgeous social enterprise whose aim is to empower plus-size women to feel confident of themselves.

Tan Swee Lin Audrey(Baker) - An ex Cathay Pacific flight attendant who switches career at the age of 37 to become a baker. Now she has her own bakery shop.

Mint Leong- Entertainer/Singer/Owner of Acro Polates Pole And Aerial Fitness Studio. One of the 1st women who brings pole-dancing to Singapore 5 years ago.

Andrea Claire-Celebrity Hairstylist & Freelance Makeup Artist who was the lead hairstylist for Canadian Idol, Canada's Fashion Week.

Yuli Maria- well known food stylist in Singapore who works with many major magazines.

Lynette Foo- Managing Director of Palate Sensations Cooking School

Emily Lim Mei Ling-An lady who struggles with rare voice discorder for several years. Now she is the author of the children's book and the inspiried adult book of finding my voice.

After hearing their stories, I do feel that although we (women) are considered to be of the weaker sex, we can certainly "think big" and fulfil our dreams.I do feel more inspired after hearing their experiences and sincerely hope that I will be able to carve a  successful career for myself.

The last performance to call it a day is the special performance by the award winning singer and song-writer, Wu Jiahui(伍家辉). He is famous for his song of the theme movie song of 881, Yi Ren Yi Ban (一人一半).

Overall, it is a fun event. I am a bit disappointed that I have not won any lucky draw prizes though. Hm...Better luck next time. I will like to end my post by thanking Cozycot for organising such a spectular event with entertaining stage performances and faubulous goodies bag and lucky draw prizes. Looking forward to the next IWD Event in 2012.
